While enjoying management positions in larger hospitality organizations, such as Hampton, Marriott and Carlson, he also brings knowledge of achieving service success in small, boutique properties such as the Wentworth Mansion and Woodlands Inn. The Woodlands property is the perennial recipient of both the Mobil Five Star and AAA Five Diamond Awards, the ultimate achievements in customer service leadership.

Dr. Yvonne Cheek is a native of North Carolina, currently residing in Minneapolis. She has held positions as a senior consultant with the Professional Development Group, director of citizen education at the University of Minnesota's Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs, manager in corporate marketing at Control Data Corporation, chair of the undergraduate program and assistant professor in the School of Music at the University of Puget Sound, and a faculty member at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She was the co-founder of Twin Cities Black and Jewish Women in Dialogue, a founding member of Minnesota World Wide Women, and is co-founder of the Initiative for Culturally Responsive Evaluation.
Her areas of focus are strategic planning; focus group interviews; needs assessment and evaluation; board development; and building effective inclusive environments.
